Whilst we do expect the LAN to be a fun event, we do need to lay down these rules in order to keep the event activities legal, and to prevent network abuse which may affect the performance of the network for other paying users.
The network will be monitored at all times by event staff who will also be active in the event hall and will be able to see all activities. The essential point of this policy is that you are at the event to play multiplayer games and to have fun. The fun is up to you to provide, we provide the network for gaming and internal communications, essentially any use other than this constitutes a breach of our AUP. In summary, such usage may be: Transfer of software/copyrighted music/pornography or any other illegal material.
We appreciate that some transfers are necessary (drivers/patches etc) and we ask that you inform one of the event staff before you directly transfer. The event FTP server is provided by CentralanUK to facilitate the transfer legitimate files. We also ask that you do not plug anything into our power systems other than your PC/Monitor/Mobile Phone Charger, and that you do not plug anything other than your network card into our CentralanUK network. Only one PC per participant is allowed. Please do not bring additional hubs/switches in order to plug laptops or other devices into the event. If you require an additional connection for a laptop or server, please see our Sales and Services page on the CentralanUK website.
Respect your fellow gamers; do not do anything that will spoil anyone else's fun. Keep at an reasonable level of behaviour, and do not cause damage to any property in the building.
The venue is non-smoking throughout, please do not smoke inside any building at the venue.
